Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church
Child Protection Resources
Grace recognizes the importance of ensuring a safe and protected environment for its children and youth against abuse. All volunteers and staff at Grace must have these forms on file with the church office as of July 1, 2015. Together we all help in making this congregation a safe place for the spiritual development of our children.
We need on file for you to volunteer with children and youth:
-
PA State Criminal Record Check Results (provide a copy or we process)
-
PA Child Abuse Clearance Results (provide a copy or fill out online)
-
FBI Fingerprint Check Results OR Signed Disclosure Statement (indicates you have lived in the state of PA for the last 10 consecutive years)
-
Signed Child Protection Covenant and Working with Children Guidelines
To obtain the above clearances:
-
PA State Criminal Record Check: Your Approved Adult Application grants us permission to process your PA State Criminal Record Check. If you already have a PA State Criminal Record Check, show us an original and provide us with a copy.
-
PA Child Abuse Clearance: You must create a keystone ID and login to complete the Child Abuse Clearance Results. Go to: https://www.compass.state.pa.us/cwis –This is free for volunteers. You will need to print out a copy of your results and bring them to us. If you already have results of a PA Child Abuse Clearance, show us an original and provide us with a copy.
-
FBI Fingerprint Check: Start with this informational sheet and code. We will reimburse you for the cost (submit receipt to church office). Print your registration receipt and take to a Fingerprint center (locations listed on Identogo's website). Results take 4-6 weeks. If you already have results to an FBI Fingerprint Check, show us an original and provide us with a copy. Or, if you have lived in the state of PA for the last 10 consecutive years, submit a Signed Disclosure Statement instead of the FBI Fingerprint Check.
