Children's Church Starts this Sunday, October 5

For children younger than 6th grade.  The intention is to provide an age-appropriate message that children will ove and be able to apply in their daily lives. The children will leave after the prayer of the day and return to the sanctuary in time for communion. 

Baptism

Kristopher & Emily Hartman's daughter, Olivia Rose Hartman, will be baptized this Sunday, October 5 during worship. 

Grace Book Club - Monday, October 6

Join Grace's Book Club to discuss "Sandwich" by Catherine Newman on Monday, October 6 at 7pm via Zoom.  Contact Melinda Bechtel at mcbbechtel@gmail.com for login information. 

Community Meal

The Community Meal will be on Wednesday, October 8 at 5:30pm in the Social Hall. The menu for this meal is Chicken leg quarters, Mashed potatoes, Corn, Applesause, and Assorted Desserts. 

Council Meeting

For October only, Grace's Council will be meeting on the first Monday (October 6) at 6pm.

Adult Faith Formation

Out of a huge battle of 48,000 Romans and 23,000 Jews the temple and city of Jerusalem fell. The temple was destroyed never to rise again. From this huge tragedy the gospel of Mark arose, and Christianity began with the writing of the book fo Mark in 70 AD. Come and join the Adult Faith Formation class for a reading and commentary on teh oldest and first gospel about Jesus story and beginning of the Christian Church. This is the final week of Adult Faith Formation until further notice. Watch the website, newsletter and bulletin for future updates. 

Trunk or Treat

We are looking for trunks or tables and members to pass out candy during Grace’s Trunk or Treat in the parking lot on Thursday, October 30 from 6-8pm. Please sign up in the parking lot hallway or by contacting the church office by Monday, October 13.

Braver Angels 

The Braver Angels event scheduled for Saturday, October 11 has been cancelled. 

Wine & Cheese - Saturday, October 18

There will be a Wine & Cheese night in the Library on Saturday, October 18 at 4:30pm, prior to the 5pm Sabbath Worship Service.  If you wisht to sponsor a Wine & Cheese night, please sign up in Barkely Chapel on the black podium inside the doors from the library.

Luke 17:10 - "So you also, when you have done all that you were commanded, say, 'We are unworthy servants; we have only done what was our duty.'" 
We can never put God in our debt. Even if we lived in perfect compliance with the Law, we would still only be unworthy servants. Our giving to the Lord's work in the church is a sign that we recognize our role as servants. Furthermore, we give because we recognize our own need for that work of the Lord in teh church. And what a blessing it is to give to the church so that the ministry of His Word and Sacraments may reach all in our community.
