Partnering for greater impact

Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to engage existing supporters, connect with new ones and invite more people to make a difference through your mission. By promoting Thrivent’s Giving Tuesday boost through your existing communication channels, you can encourage more people to give, and their generosity will go further. Thrivent also covers the online processing fees, so 100% of donations go to your organization.2

The $3 million grant fund will be made available to all Thrivent Choice® organizations that receive donations on Giving Tuesday. To verify whether your organization is enrolled, check the Thrivent Choice catalog.

Campaign overview

Q: What is the Giving Tuesday campaign?
A: On Giving Tuesday, Thrivent is making up to $3 million in grant funds available to boost online donations made through Thrivent’s giving platform. Donors can choose from over 52,000 enrolled organizations currently listed in our Thrivent Choice® catalog.

Q: When is the campaign?
A: The campaign will take place on Giving Tuesday, December 1, 2026. Donations must be made through Thrivent’s giving platform between 12 midnight and 11:59 p.m. in the donor’s time zone on Tuesday, December 1, 2026, to be eligible for the boost.

Q: Which organizations can receive the boost on donations made through Thrivent's platform?
A: Organizations enrolled in Thrivent Choice® and listed in the catalog at the time of the campaign can receive the boost on donations. You can verify your organization is included by searching our catalog of enrolled organizations.

Donations and boost

Q: How does the boost work?
A: Thrivent will boost donations from a $3 million pool, up to a $1-for-$1 ratio. Because many organizations will receive donations, the final boost ratio and amount will be calculated after the campaign based on total donations.

Q: Will every donation receive a boost?
A: Every donation made during the campaign window through our giving platform will receive a boost, up to a maximum of $1-for-$1. If total donations exceed $3 million, each donation will receive a proportional boost.  Examples:
  • If up to $3 million is donated, a $1 boost for every $1 donated would be applied.
  • If $6 million is donated during the campaign window, a $1 boost for every $2 donated would be applied.
  • If $9 million is donated, a $1 boost for every $3 donated would be applied.
Q: Are there fees for online donations?
A: Thrivent covers 100% of the online processing fees2 for donations made through our giving platform, so the organization receives the full donation amount.

Q: Can donations be made by check, donor-advised fund, qualified charitable distribution or another method?
A: No. To be eligible for the Giving Tuesday boost, donations must be made online through Thrivent’s giving platform during the campaign window.

Q. What payment methods are allowed on Thrivent’s giving platform during the campaign window?
A: Available payment methods are credit/debit card and Apple/Google Pay.
Note: Direct bank payments (ACH) will not be available on Giving Tuesday.

Q: What communications will donors receive from Thrivent after completing their donation?
A: Immediately after a donation is processed, the donor will receive a donation confirmation email and tax receipt from Thrivent Charitable. Within two weeks of Giving Tuesday, Thrivent will send an email sharing the overall campaign results, including the final boost ratio so they will know the amount added to their donation through the campaign. If the donor is not already a Thrivent client, they will also receive Thrivent's monthly email newsletter and can unsubscribe at any time.

After the campaign

Q: When will the total campaign impact be announced?
A: After Giving Tuesday, check back on our Giving Tuesday page, thrivent.com/give, for overall results.

Q: What information will organizations receive about their donors, donations and boost, and when will they receive it?
A: Organizations that receive donations through the campaign will receive two follow-up emails:
  • #1: An email with the organization's total donation amount, boost amount, and payout timing will be sent by December 11, 2026. Note: This communication will provide the date email #2 will be sent.
  • #2: An email with donor information to help organizations acknowledge and thank supporters, including donor name, contact information, and donation amount.
If you’d like to verify the email address on file for your organization, please email thriventchoice@thrivent.com.

Q: When will donations and boost funds be paid out?
A: Donations and boost funds will be paid in two separate transactions:
  • Donations: All donations received for your organization on Giving Tuesday will be batched together and sent in one EFT payment on December 9, 2026.
  • Boost: Boost funds will be sent as a separate EFT payment on or before December 16, 2026.
Please allow two to three business days after each EFT payment is sent for the funds to appear in your organization's bank account.
Note: If your organization is newly enrolled in Thrivent Choice, you may receive a paper check in the mail for your batched donations instead of an EFT payment.

Q: How will these transactions display on the organization’s bank statement?
A: The donation payment will appear on your bank statement as Thrivent Charitable.
The boost payment will appear on your bank statement as Thrivent Grant.
Note: If your organization also receives Choice Dollars® grant funding in December, those funds may be deposited around the same time. That transaction will also appear as Thrivent Grant. You will receive a separate email communication about the Choice Dollars grant payment.

Q: What happens if a donation is disputed or reversed?
A: If a donor requests a refund or initiates a dispute after funds have been sent to your organization, the donation amount will be recovered from your organization or deducted from future payments.

Q. Does my organization need to send tax receipts to the donors?
A: No, the organization should not send a tax receipt. An email confirmation, including the tax receipt, will be provided by Thrivent Charitable to the donor at the time of the donation submission.
